The Office of the Provincial Land and Development Facilitator (OPLDF) is an independent advisory agency that resolves planning and development issues related to provincial policies. About the job

Supporting the work of the Provincial Land and Development Facilitator, you will :

  • Lead the research and analysis of multiple high-priority and politically sensitive land-use planning files, issues and projects
  • Provide project management, leadership and professional planning expertise to multiple stakeholders
  • Provide information, strategic advice, analysis, and recommendations to senior management on contentious land-planning issues, and to support decision-making
  • Actively participate in facilitated discussions, and provide background materials for meetings
  • Draft appropriate briefing notes and Treasury Board Submissions
  • Liaise with ministry and external stakeholders to consult, evaluate and respond to issues
  • Provide advice and input to support recommendations of the PLDF

What you bring to the team

Knowledge

You have :

  • knowledge of the Planning Act, planning system, related legislation, policies, and Ontario government priorities
  • knowledge of the decision-making process and accountability frameworks to interpret policy and program related issues
  • knowledge of and familiarity with municipal government processes
  • good judgement and tact to recommend strategic directions and approaches to issue resolution and facilitation strategy and tactics
  • Strategic Leadership and Project Management

  • provide strategic advice and recommendations.

  • determine project success criteria, performance metrics, and deliverables.
  • Research and Issues Management

  • conduct research, develop options and make evidence-based recommendations
