Job summary

CGI Constructors in Mississauga is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead major construction initiatives from planning through closeout. You will develop schedules, budgets and resource plans, while guiding cross‑functional teams to meet milestones.

The role requires 5–10+ years in construction management, a relevant degree, and proficiency with Procore. You will negotiate contracts, manage risk, ensure quality and safety, and report progress to stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • 5-10+ years of construction management experience.
  • A diploma or university degree in construction management preferred.
  • Experience using Procore is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Develop project plans, schedules, budgets, and resources to meet goals.
  • Lead and motivate project teams including contractors and stakeholders.
  • Identify risks and develop mitigation plans.
  • Develop and implement quality management plans.
  • Communicate with clients, contractors, and subcontractors to align expectations.
  • Oversee contracts and negotiate terms.
  • Manage schedules, critical path, milestones, and progress.
  • Control budgets and forecast costs; identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Manage changes to scope, schedule, and budget with proper documentation.
  • Ensure health and safety regulations are followed on sites.
  • Create and distribute regular project status reports.

You As a Project Manager
  • Develop project plans, including schedules, budgets, and resource allocation, to achieve project goals.
  • Lead, manage and motivate project teams, including contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to achieve project objectives and milestones.
  • Identify potential risks and develop risk management plans to mitigate any negative impact on the project.
  • Develop and implement quality management plans and processes to ensure that the project meets or exceeds the required quality standards.
  • Communicate with stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and subcontractors, to ensure that their needs and expectations are met.
  • Oversee contracts and agreements, including reviewing proposals and negotiating terms, to ensure that all parties are satisfied with the project outcomes.
  • Develop and manage project schedules, identify critical path activities, set milestones, and track progress against the schedule.
  • Manage project budgets, including tracking expenses, forecasting costs, and identifying cost‑saving opportunities.
  • Manage changes to the project scope, schedule, and budget to ensure that changes are properly documented, approved, and communicated to all stakeholders.
  • Ensure that all health and safety regulations are adhered to throughout the project, including managing the risks associated with construction sites.
  • Create and distribute regular project status reports, including progress updates, budget reports, and risk assessments, to ensure that all stakeholders are informed of project progress.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with project teams, stakeholders, and contractors to achieve project goals while maintaining positive relationships.
  • Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage competing demands effectively.
  • The ability to adapt to changes in project scope, timelines, and requirements, and to adjust plans and resources accordingly to ensure successful project outcomes.
Requirements
  • 5-10+ year of construction management experience or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience
  • A diploma or university degree in construction management preferred or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience.
  • Experience using Procore is considered an asset
