Job summary

Pomerleau is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead large-scale healthcare construction projects—from planning to turnover—within Ontario and British Columbia. You will manage multi‑discipline teams, drive schedules, oversee budgets and promote Health & Safety standards across hospital facilities.

The role emphasizes strong client relationships, risk management, and mentorship to project teams, with a hybrid work model and opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in project management for ICI construction.
• University degree or technology diploma in engineering.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills.
• Solid knowledge of construction methods, codes, and regulations.
• Health, safety and quality are top priorities.
• Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

As an experienced Senior Project Manager in the Building Operations team at Pomerleau Construction, you will manage large‑scale building and infrastructure projects ranging from $1.5 million to upwards of $1 billion while working closely with our client groups and subcontractors.

What you will do

• Grow and maintain strong relationships with team members, trade partners, consultants and clients to achieve the project goals and vision.
• Support your project management teams to develop and drive the construction schedule ensuring that completion dates and milestones are met.
• Apply your financial management experience to plan, manage and respect project budgets, costs and associated purchasing.
• Share your knowledge and be a role model through mentorship opportunities with project team members.
• Be an expert in risk management to ensure any associated project risk is minimized.
• Take pride in compiling and completing company‑wide project reports.
• Demonstrate leadership in Health, Safety and Environmental Protection on the project.
• Manage multidisciplinary project teams, consultants, and trade partners, ensuring alignment with clinical workflows, infection control standards, and operational requirements.
• Apply project‑specific safety standards, promoting Pomerleau’s HS&E standards and complying with relevant OH&S acts, regulations, and codes universally.
• Lead the delivery of complex healthcare construction projects—including hospitals, diagnostic imaging suites, operating rooms, emergency departments, and long‑term care facilities—from planning through turnover.
• Champion health & safety, infection prevention and control (IPAC/ICRA), and patient‑first planning throughout construction and occupancy phases.

This role could be for you if you have

• 10+ years’ experience in Project Management the ICI construction industry.
• University Degree/Technology Diploma in Engineering, or a combination of education and industry experience.
• Exceptional leadership, organizational prowess, influential abilities, adept problem‑solving, ensuring project success amidst diverse challenges.
• Strong knowledge of construction and project methodologies, financial management, as well as building codes and associated legislation.
• Be a champion and role model for quality and all health and safety best practices.
• Experienced working with scheduling software, knowledge and experience working with P6 considered a strong asset.
