Job description

The Senior Project Manager, will play a pivotal role in overseeing all phases of project delivery, from preconstruction through completion, while ensuring safety, quality, budget, and schedule objectives are consistently met.

Primary Scope of Role :

  • Ability for complete oversight of a heavy civil major project, for all scopes, with strong knowledge on all scopes
  • Represent the organization from a strategic point of view and understanding of markets.
  • Oversee senior leaders (PM / Super / Estimators), in a professional and sensitive manner
  • Manage executive level stakeholders and client relationships
  • High financial acumen, with full P&L responsibility for their assigned Projects
  • Ability to bid on all scopes under the individuals’ responsibilities, without oversight, understanding bid productivities, crew requirements, risk, scheduling and market sensitivities, including competitors. The individual should be able to demonstrate that they have successfully delivered, operationally, on the work that they have bid in the past.
  • Strong understanding of H&S requirements under OHSA
  • Strong understanding of quality requirements consistent with the OPSS
  • Ability to plan all project scopes under the individuals’ responsibilities, speaking with knowledge on their scopes

Position Requirements :

  • Post secondary education civil engineering or a related field
  • 10 -15 years of experience in project management in the road building and construction industry
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices
  • Results-driven with an ability to deliver success in a fast-paced environment.
  • Outcome focused, critical thinker with the ability to analyse and visualize to ensure continuous improvement across our business.
  • Ability to connect and interact with people to seek different perspectives.
  • Superb communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple competing priorities.
  • Demonstrate versatility and resourcefulness in overcoming business challenges.
