The Client:

A well-established and fast-growing Commercial/Residential General Contracting Firm in Victoria.

Summary:

Full-time opening for an intermediate to senior-level Project Manager to lead and manage commercial, residential high-rise, recreational, medical, and institutional construction projects in the BC Lower Mainland and Vancouver Region. Projects range from $10M to $300M in value.

Key Responsibilities as the Senior Project Manager:

• Demonstrate leadership in health, safety, and environmental protection on every project.
• Apply requirements of the Project Specific Safety Program to promote compliance with HSE standards, OH&S Acts, regulations, and codes with all employees and subcontractors.
• Ensure projects are built according to approved plans, specifications, shop drawings, and applicable building codes while maintaining quality standards.
• Develop and maintain construction schedules with the project team to meet milestones and completion dates; provide clear direction to ensure project targets are achieved.
• Facilitate project meetings with internal and external stakeholders to monitor and support ongoing project progression.
• Identify and manage opportunities and risks to optimize schedule and financial outcomes.
• Maintain, track, and report on financial aspects of projects, including forecasts and billings.
• Manage procurement processes, including subcontractor and supplier negotiations and awards.
• Oversee the submittal process, ensuring timely approval of submittals and materials for on-time site delivery.
• Manage, mentor, and lead Project Managers and Coordinators.

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience as a Project Manager, Project Coordinator, or Construction Engineer. A degree in Construction Management or related field is required; professional registration or PMP and LEED designations are preferred.
• Demonstrated leadership and strong technical skills are essential.
• Experience in commercial and residential building design and construction is required.
• Site-based experience is preferred.
• Fluency in English and excellent communication skills are necessary.
• Self-motivated with a strong desire to succeed.
• Proficiency in project and scheduling software is required.
