Overview

Join to apply for the Senior Project Manager role at Körber. Körber is pioneering sorting technology and solutions for mail and parcel automation with a global presence. This role is based in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.

Pioneer your career with Körber. We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Senior Project Manager to lead projects after a formal handover from the sales manager. You will manage customer relations, quality control, project coordination, scheduling, and ensure all contractual obligations are met.

Responsibilities
  • Lead all participants in the project as the team lead and assume full responsibility for the entire order, including internal and external deliveries; guide the customer and representatives and document potential adjustments
  • Act as the “Contract owner”; manage contractual challenges and ensure justifiable risk management
  • Draw up offers and contract documents for variation orders and additional sales; manage both commercial and technical aspects
  • Ensure projects follow the company’s Project Excellence processes with associated documentation
  • Lead diverse international and intercompany project teams including electrical, mechanical, PLC software, software engineers from WCS / WMS, and subcontractors
  • Design and follow a detailed project plan
  • Provide precise prognosis, resource allocations, planning and budgeting for projects
  • Support the sales department in drawing up system solutions and participate in customer meetings during the sales phase
  • Monitor project phases, assess risks, initiate problem-solving measures, and track time, quality, and budget
  • Manage installations and operation of projects on-site with customers, project teams, and subcontractors
  • Provide regular status reports and basis for decision-making when needed
  • Ensure project achieves PAC (provisional acceptance criteria) and FAC (factory acceptance criteria) at the agreed time
  • Collect and validate project documentation to meet current standards before sending to the customer
  • Initiate and approve invoicing according to project progress and payment plan
  • Travel as required to support project delivery
Qualifications
  • Engineering or other relevant technical studies or comparable experience
  • At least 8 years of relevant professional experience as a project manager, preferably in a logistics environment
  • Proven project management certification (e.g., PMP, CAPM, GPM-IPMA, PRINCE2) desirable
  • Ability to travel up to 80%
  • Structured problem-solving methods (e.g., Fishbone, 5 Why) are advantageous
  • Experience working in matrix structures
  • Business fluent in written and spoken English
