Job summary

Acadian Construction is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead complex commercial projects from preconstruction through closeout.

You will report to the Director of Construction and oversee delivery, financials, risk, and client relations across multiple active sites.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Engineering, Engineering Technology, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least seven years of progressive construction project management experience.
• Experience managing commercial construction projects for a general contractor.
• Strong knowledge of budgets, schedules, costs, forecasts, and change orders.
• Experience leading project teams and working directly with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
• Strong leadership, organization, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction project management software.

JMC is pleased to partner with Acadian Construction to recruit a Senior Project Manager. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced construction professional to lead complex commercial projects from preconstruction through completion.

Reporting to the Director of Construction, the Senior Project Manager will oversee project delivery, financial performance, risk management, client relationships, and project teams. The successful candidate will bring strong general contracting experience, sound construction knowledge, and the ability to keep projects moving safely, efficiently, and successfully.

Key Responsibilities

This full-time, permanent position is based in Halifax and involves a combination of office and construction site work, including regular travel to active project sites.
