Job Description
As our new Project Manager, you would have the opportunity to manage multiple design-inspired, heavy civil construction projects, roadway and public right-of-way projects, and large-scale landscape construction projects. You would delight our industrial, commercial, institutional, municipal, and public infrastructure clients with your attentiveness to project deliverables and your ability to get design-inspired, heavy construction projects built! This would mean ensuring the comprehensive supervision and coordination of all the steps of a construction project, including support of site superintendents, collaboration with subcontractors and clients, and monitoring of costs and schedules.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate work in collaboration with the superintendent — schedule, manpower, and equipment requirements, etc.;
- Manage plans, specifications, addenda, and submittal/shop drawing process;
- Manage changes and instructions pertaining to the project;
- Issue purchase orders for construction materials;
- Prepare and/or review change orders;
- Provide ongoing communication with the client related to the project, including preparation of schedules, progress updates, and progress invoices;
- Organize and conduct construction site meetings as required;
- Identify additional scope and revenue opportunities related to the project;
- Support the Senior Estimator in developing project proposals/estimates;
- Support the project team as the Senior Project Manager.
Formal Education, Licenses, and Certifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering discipline
Knowledge and Experience
- A minimum of 5+ years of previous construction project management or landscape project management experience preferred;
- Ability to work on several projects concurrently, prioritize workload, and meet tight deadlines without compromising quality;
- Experience in landscaping, road building, or heavy civil construction is an asset;
- Strong skills in project management, negotiation, and problem-solving;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to function effectively in a team environment;
- Working knowledge of project management software.
Availability
- This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Local travel will be required to respective job sites. Mileage will be compensated.
