Job description

Salary: $130k to $170k. However, we are "FIT FOCUSED" and salary is negotiable for the right candidate. RRSP Matching Plan, Robust Benefits Plan.

The Client:

A well-established and fast-growing Commercial/Residential General Contracting Firm in Edmonton.

Summary:

Full-time opening for an intermediate to senior-level Project Manager to provide leadership and management of commercial, residential high-rise, recreational, medical, and institutional construction projects in the BC Lower Mainland and Vancouver Region. Projects range from $10M to $300M in value.

Key Responsibilities as the Senior Project Manager:

  • Demonstrate leadership in health, safety, and environmental protection on every project.
  • Apply requirements of the Project Specific Safety Program to promote overall compliance with HSE standards, and applicable OH&S Acts, regulations, and codes with all employees and subcontractors on the project.
  • Ensure projects are built according to approved plans, specifications, shop drawings, and applicable building codes while maintaining quality standards.
  • Develop and maintain construction schedules in conjunction with the project team to meet milestones and completion dates; provide clear direction to team members to ensure project targets are achieved.
  • Facilitate project meetings with internal and external stakeholders to monitor and support ongoing project progression.
  • Work with project teams to identify and manage opportunities and risks, aiming to achieve the best possible impact on schedule and financial targets.
  • Maintain, track, and report financial aspects of projects including forecasts and billings.
  • Manage procurement process including subcontractor and supplier negotiations and awards.
  • Manage the submittal process and facilitate timely approval of submittals and materials to ensure on-time delivery to site.
  • Manage, mentor, and provide leadership to Project Managers and Coordinators.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 10+ years of work experience as a Project Manager, Project Coordinator, or Construction Engineer. Graduate Engineer with professional registration or a Degree in Construction Management. Project Management Professional (PMP) and LEED designation preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership and superior technical skills required.
  • Experience in the commercial and residential design and construction of buildings required.
  • Previous site-based experience preferred.
  • Must be fluent in English and have excellent communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with a strong desire to succeed.
  • Knowledge of project and scheduling software required.
