Job summary

Binnie in Burnaby, BC, seeks a Senior Project Manager to lead transportation and transit infrastructure projects from initiation to completion. The role blends client-embedded leadership with a cross-functional team, budget oversight, and agile reporting across the project life cycle.

You will mentor peers, foster client relationships, and contribute to business development while guiding complex portfolios for public-sector clients.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10+ years of relevant project management experience delivering transportation infrastructure projects.
  • Post-Secondary education in Engineering, Urban Planning, Project Management, Construction Technology, Public Administration or related field.
  • Registration as a P.Eng. with EGBC, with ASTTBC or equivalent are assets.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent.
  • Experience of projects with values greater than approximately $25 million.
  • Previous experience working with public authorities, including local government and regional authority preferred.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and personal vehicle.
  • Progressive experience in managing all aspects of project delivery.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple complex projects.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

You enjoy working collaboratively and leading teams to deliver complex public-sector transportation infrastructure projects from start to finish. You are a proactive problem solver who can navigate project challenges, integrate into multidisciplinary teams, and maintain a strong focus on quality and public infrastructure client outcomes.

Binnie is looking for a Senior Project Manager to join our Project Delivery – Transportation and Transit Division full-time in our Burnaby office. While based out of Burnaby, this position also involves a mix of work from client offices, and a hybrid work environment.

Our Project Delivery – Transportation and Transit Division manages a range of public transportation infrastructure projects on behalf of our clients. Our Project Managers follow Project Management Institute guidelines, and we support team members in obtaining and maintaining their PMP designation. We are looking for an experienced project leader ready to take on a challenging role, contribute to our team, and benefit from opportunities for mentorship and continued growth.

As Senior Project Manager, you will lead complex transportation and transit infrastructure projects from initiation through completion. Acting as the owner’s representative, you will be accountable for delivering a portfolio of projects with varying scope and complexity. Embedded within the client’s organization, you will work closely with client leaders to establish delivery strategies and assemble, integrate, and lead multidisciplinary teams throughout the project life cycle.

Your strong understanding of project management methodologies will support your efforts to provide comprehensive project status reports, lead the change management process and accurately maintain project control documentation.

You will play a key role in a talented and diverse team of Project Managers at varied experience levels. You will provide planning, direction, and reporting for projects to ensure we meet the needs of our clients. You will also utilize your excellent business development skills to maintain strong client relationships and secure new business opportunities. The salary for this position is commensurate with experience; the salary range for this position is $126,825- $188, 800 annually. The final salary for this role may vary based on several factors, including relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
