Matchbox is working with a well-established general contractor that has delivered high-quality commercial and residential projects across the Lower Mainland With a reputation built on trust, long-standing client relationships, and a team that values professionalism and collaboration, they offer a steady pipeline of work, low turnover, and an environment where people are set up to succeed.

They are currently looking for a Senior Project Manager to join their commercial division. This is a hands-on leadership role that combines project delivery with oversight of the broader PM team. You’ll be involved in everything from preconstruction planning and client communication to internal operations and strategic input at the leadership level.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Managing multiple commercial projects from early planning stages through to closeout
  • Providing mentorship and guidance to project managers, coordinators, and site staff
  • Leading internal meetings, reviewing team deliverables, and supporting individual performance
  • Collaborating with the executive team on operational planning and business strategy
  • Overseeing tenders, trade onboarding, scope reviews, and subcontract awards
  • Coordinating project timelines, cost tracking, and documentation
  • Building strong working relationships with clients, consultants, trades, and internal teams
  • Supporting risk management, safety practices, and quality control on site
  • Participating in project financial reviews, client billing, and forecasting
  • Driving post-project reviews and contributing to continuous improvement

What We’re Looking For

  • 8+ years of experience managing commercial or tenant improvement construction projects
  • Previous experience overseeing a team of project managers or coordinators
  • A post-secondary education in construction management or a related field
  • Deep understanding of project delivery methods and contract structures, including Design-Build and CCDC formats
  • Ability to navigate complex drawing sets and coordinate across disciplines
  • Strong communication skills and a steady, team-oriented leadership style
  • A proactive mindset and an interest in contributing beyond individual project execution
