Job summary

WSP's Applied Solutions team seeks a Senior Project Manager to lead complex environmental remediation, mine closure, water treatment, infrastructure, and multidisciplinary construction projects across Western and Northern Canada. Based in BC or AB with hybrid work and travel to sites.

You'll mentor teams, manage scope, schedules, budgets, risk, and client relations while expanding opportunities with regulators, subcontractors, and partners to deliver safe, sustainable outcomes.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of progressive project management experience delivering environmental, remediation, mining, construction, infrastructure, or industrial projects.
  • Demonstrated success managing multidisciplinary teams, complex stakeholder relationships, and subcontractor networks.
  • Strong understanding of project controls, scheduling, budgeting, risk management, procurement, and contract administration.
  • Experience working in remote locations and challenging operational environments; northern or Arctic project experience is considered a strong asset.
  • Knowledge of remediation, mine closure, demolition, water treatment, reclamation, habitat restoration, or related environmental services.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, problem-solving, and client relationship management skills.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites, client meetings, and field activities as required.

  • Champion a strong safety culture by ensuring projects are delivered in alignment with WSP's health, safety, quality, and environmental standards.
  • Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, forecasting, and reporting to achieve operational and financial objectives.
  • Build trusted relationships with clients, regulators, subcontractors, suppliers, and project partners while serving as the primary project liaison.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams, field activities, procurement, logistics, and subcontractor performance to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Develop project documentation including execution plans, health and safety plans, cost estimates, work packages, and project controls.
  • Contribute to business growth by identifying opportunities, supporting strategic client relationships, and leading proposal development efforts.
  • Mentor and support team members while fostering collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement across the Applied Solutions practice.

The Opportunity

Build the Future with Us - Join WSP's Applied Solutions team as a Senior Project Manager and lead the successful delivery of complex environmental remediation, mine closure, water treatment, infrastructure, and multidisciplinary construction projects across Western and Northern Canada.

Based in British Columbia or Alberta, you'll work with industry-leading professionals, clients, communities, and Indigenous partners to deliver impactful projects that improve environmental outcomes, restore lands, and support responsible development. This role offers the flexibility of a hybrid work arrangement, with travel to project sites and client locations as required.

Your Impact

The Skills That Set You Apart
  • Degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline.
  • 8+ years of progressive project management experience delivering environmental, remediation, mining, construction, infrastructure, or industrial projects.
  • Demonstrated success managing multidisciplinary teams, complex stakeholder relationships, and subcontractor networks.

Compensation

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $104,100 - $138,000

MB & ON: $95,000 - $130,800

NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $94,100 - $124,900

The final salary awarded for this role may vary from the above range based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
