WSP is seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Manager or Senior Project Manager to drive growth in the Sudbury and surrounding area markets. WSP’s Land Development team is a close-knit, collaborative team which prides itself on its long-standing relationships of trust with many of the developers, Municipalities, Townships, Cities and Regions across Ontario. Partnering with other internal disciplines across WSP, the team is responsible for delivering long-term, complex Municipal and Land Development projects, covering the entire project life cycle from conceptual planning and design, through to construction management and client hand-over.

As a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager, you will oversee multiple projects, building strong partnerships both within the organization and with external stakeholders. You will play a key role in shaping and executing the project delivery strategy. You will manage financial and technical aspects of all projects through the full project lifecycle from early project phase, proposals and business development activities, to overseeing engineering, design & approvals to office assistance for contract administration and construction.

What you can expect to do here:

  • Manage multiple large multidisciplinary project teams;
  • Manage each project to ensure client expectations and business unit standards are met;
  • Obtain land development approvals acting as a liaison between client and approving authorities;
  • Preparation of proposals;
  • Business development activities;
  • Financial management of projects;
  • Staff mentoring and development;
  • Other duties as assigned.

What you'll bring to WSP:

  • 7+ years of experience in a consulting environment focused on municipal and land development projects;
  • Extensive project management experience on municipal and land development projects;
  • Experience working on water/wastewater infrastructure projects, including linear, vertical and water/wastewater treatment will be considered an asset;
  • Experience working on mining projects or within a mining environment with respect to civil works will be considered an asset;
  • Registered as a P. Eng. in Ontario;
  • Expert knowledge of the land development approvals process in Ontario;
  • Strong client management skills with excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Strong financial and project management skills;
  • Valid driver’s license in Ontario;
  • Well-developed network within the municipal and land development industry.
