Insight Global is seeking an experienced Project Engineer for projects in the Land Development (Civil) Engineering Department for a civil engineering client in Peterborough.

Land Development projects involve multiple steps and require inputs from various supporting disciplines. Success depends on technical knowledge, proactive project management, clear communication, and solutions-oriented problem solving. Our client offers comprehensive land development services, with experts including engineers, project managers, planners, biologists, hydrogeologists, contract administrators, surveyors, and inspectors working collaboratively to understand the big picture and interconnections of each project component.

Required Skills & Experience

• Licensed Professional Engineer in Ontario (P.Eng. with PEO)
• Minimum 5+ years of Civil/Municipal/Land Development Engineering experience
• Strong knowledge of the land development approval process in Ontario
• Experience with municipal design standards in southern Ontario, TAC Geometric Design Guidelines, MECP Environmental Compliance Approvals, and Ontario Provincial Standards and Specifications
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Experience as an Expert Witness for Ontario Land Tribunal Hearings
• Experience in stormwater management design

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage servicing and grading design for land development projects, from small site plans to multi-phase subdivisions
• Serve as the primary contact for key land development clients
• Coordinate with internal and external disciplines to design and deliver comprehensive land development documents for review and approval
• Manage project resources, budgets, and deliverables
• Prepare and coordinate proposals for multidisciplinary projects
• Provide Technical Peer Review services to neighboring municipalities
• Prepare development agreements, approvals, construction specifications, and tender documents
• Guide project engineers and designers to maintain quality standards
