Our client is seeking a Senior Project Coordinator to support a government reorganization and transition services between ministries undergoing government cabinet change and ministry reorganization. (632)
Please note this is a remote role but must be worked during typical business hours aligning with mountain time zone. 7.25 hours daily.
Must Haves:
- 8+ years as a Project Coordinator (or combination of educational and work experience)
- 2+ years as a project coordinator leading technical teams in multiple implementation and execution of information technology projects in large enterprise IT environments
- 5+ years defining project scope and goals in collaboration with business stakeholders
- 5+ years developing project deliverables including project charters, business cases, briefing notes, status reports, risk logs and project closures
- 5+ years in a project management role
- 5+ years managing multiple projects concurrently
A combination of the following experience is required:
- 2+ years coordinating IT infrastructure projects for Government of Alberta, either working directly for GoA, or for vendors supporting projects for GoA.
- 5+ years developing and maintaining positive stakeholder relationships across the organization, including executive level.
- 4+ years leading and facilitating meetings with stakeholders at all levels.
- 5+ years leading change management and communication planning.
- 4+ years working in an enterprise environment.
- 1+ years working on projects involving Microsoft Active Directory and Microsoft file system security.
- 1+ years working with Government Reorganization (IMT changes) projects within Government.
Project Overview:
The project coordinator will be responsible for Government Reorganization (GR) projects.
The GR Coordinator will lead a team in the development, implementation, and execution of IT projects or manage a complex specialized area within IT. This resource will support GR and transition services for GoA ministries undergoing government cabinet change and ministry reorganization.
GR projects involve investigating, analyzing, and coordinating the various Information Management and Technology (IMT) changes required due to department name changes or movement of programs, services, and personnel. These involve Microsoft Active Directory and Microsoft file system security.
The GR Project Coordinator is responsible for planning, managing, and reporting on projects of varying scope and size, ensuring effective stakeholder governance, and demonstrating value and benefits.
Responsibilities:
- Investigate, analyze, and coordinate IMT changes due to department name changes or movement of programs, services, and personnel. These involve Microsoft Active Directory and Microsoft file system security.
- Lead consultations and facilitate stakeholder meetings.
- Create business requirements, functional specifications, and technical requirements.
- Schedule, organize, and lead project status meetings and other meetings as required.
- Create project documents and planning materials.
- Support communication between vendors, client ministries, and technical and business teams.
- Escalate unresolved issues and risks, and provide options and recommendations.
- Coordinate IT infrastructure implementation.
- Provide oversight to ensure projects meet scope, schedule, and client expectations while following cybersecurity and operational standards.
- Provide weekly status reports and maintain project documentation in SharePoint.
- Use project management tools to manage resources and stakeholder engagement.
- Track and report time and status of all work.
- Document technical recommendations and provide guidance to management and project teams.
- Follow change management processes.
- Make recommendations regarding issues, risks, and client satisfaction.
- Collaborate on proof of concept and limited rollout projects.
- Ensure quality control on implementations.
- Communicate operational guidelines and policies.
- Assess the impact of new services and technologies and recommend remediation.
