Job description

Our ability to meet deadlines and budgets as well as our vast expertise in the field allow us to actively participate in large-scale projects such as the Samuel-De-Champlain Bridge, the Réseau Express Métropolitain (REM) and the Site C hydro-electric power station located near Fort St-John in British Columbia.

Reporting to the Project Manager, the responsibilities of the Senior Project Coordinator include :

  • Read technical and administrative project specifications;
  • Inspect work daily to ensure that it meets the specified standards;
  • Inform Project Manager of project development and discuss methods planned with site management;
  • Order critical material with suppliers in collaboration with the Superintendent;
  • Perform quantity tracking and cost coding for purposes of productivity analysis and accurate job cost forecasting;
  • Perform duties related to the cost control cycle throughout the project execution, including tracking budgets and schedules;
  • Ensure tracking of hours, expenses, costs, and budget updates;
  • Monitor changes and coordination with the project team;
  • Record and resolve issues related to project budgets and schedules;
  • Tabulate and format information into the client format for submission;
  • Ensure the quality of prepared project reports, executive summaries, and dashboards;
  • Perform duties related to document control, including formatting documentation and maintaining records according to a cloud-based filing system;
  • Assist in the preparation of final records for the project, including as-builts;
  • Organize and participate in various meetings;
  • Establish and keep necessary communications between suppliers, sub-contractors, professionals, and clients;
  • Assist in carrying out a variety of field duties at the job site related to the project.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Civil Engineering program or similar, or a combination of technical training and / or related experience;
  • Minimum of 5 years of industry experience;
  • Experience in contracting industry (heavy civil preferred);
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical design drawings;
  • Experience with scheduling and planning site activities;
  • Excellent command of computer software including Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project, BlueBeam, AutoCAD, etc.;
  • Experience with cost analysis, control, and reporting;
  • Commercial knowledge and experience with contracts is considered an asset;
  • Bilingualism (an asset), but proficiency in English language with excellent communication skills (written and verbal) is required.
