The Opportunity:

Senior Project Controls Analyst for our Bridges, Highways & Roads (BHR West) group, to support the execution of project activities, including cost control, budget management, project management, and monthly reporting. What you can expect to do here:
  • Handle complex assignments requiring business acumen, leadership, and ingenuity;
  • Provide guidance and management advice impacting cost, efficiency, compliance, service, and quality;
  • Exercise independent judgment and decision-making on complex issues and matters of significance, requiring analysis of variable factors and determining the best course of action;
  • Maintain accurate reporting and tracking on projects to verify the planned value, actual cost, earned value, and assess impacts for changes to baseline/estimates and new forecasted dates/performance;
  • Manage baseline budgets and work breakdown structures to manage hours and expenditure;
  • Manage subconsultants including proposals, agreements, invoices, schedules, and deliverables;
  • Develop controls to ensure that client and corporate procedures are being adhered to, active in continuous improvement;
  • Management of change process including proactively identifying potential variations; preparing change orders and maintaining change logs;
  • Coordinate with Finance, communicate clear instructions to ensure budgets are correctly maintained in the system and invoicing is done accurately and in a timely manner;
  • Monitor and report critical path and schedule performance of the total project, assist with project schedule analysis and studies of problem areas to determine the criticality of the schedule;
  • Attend internal and/client meetings as required and maintain communications with clients and project teams;
  • Review and understand contract documents and agreements to be able to identify tasks/client requests that are within or out of scope.

What you'll bring to WSP:
  • Post-secondary diploma or degree (project management, finance or business preferred);
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in Project Controls;
  • Previous relevant experience in engineering or construction industry is an asset;
  • Ability to quickly identify and understand project issues and opportunities and proactively provide options for solutions;
  • Ability to multi-task, work on several projects or tasks at once, manage time, organize, and set priorities;
  • Strong interpersonal skills as the role requires continuous interaction with team members;
  • Knowledge in Planning/Scheduling is an asset;
  • Earned Value Management (EVM) knowledge is an asset;
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite and Outlook;
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and/or MS Project skills is an asset;
  • Ability to identify and solve project issues proactively;
  • A team player who thrives on working with other successful, energetic people.

Compensation

Salary range (in British Colombia): $ 96,200 - $132,200

The final salary awarded for this role may vary from the above range based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs. The salary range provided in this job posting may be subject to change for business purposes.
