Job summary

Arcadis Ottawa is seeking a Senior Project Civil Engineer to lead land/site development projects. You’ll manage project teams, oversee client relationships, and drive technical excellence in a hybrid work environment.

The role requires licensing as a P.Eng in Ontario, strong communication, and proven project delivery experience. You will mentor staff and pursue growth opportunities within the Ottawa market.

Qualifications

• 9 or more years experience with City of Ottawa development approvals, servicing studies, grading plans, and stormwater management design.
• Team-oriented personality who likes to be part of a cohesive team, effectively working with a range of personalities and skill levels
• Project experience working directly with clients and stakeholders
• Well networked with the sector to source potential new projects and opportunities to grow the Arcadis civil team in the Ottawa area
• Proficient with Civil 3D, Microsoft Office
• Strong communication skills - verbal and written communication skills
• Have a work history that demonstrates a strong work ethic, effectively managing multiple tasks and priorities
• Mandatory Licensed Professional Engineering (P.Eng) in Ontario

Responsibilities

• Manage land/site development projects (small to large scale), including mixed-use, commercial, and industrial development projects within the Ottawa area
• Provide strategic direction and management to project teams, identifying key technical issues/questions at the beginning of projects
• Be the project point person and work directly with the client
• Liaise with other disciplines, consulting firms, and regulatory bodies on behalf of the client to deliver integrated solutions
• Ensure project deliverables meet Arcadis’ quality standards and applicable municipal, provincial and regulatory requirements.
• Develop and maintain client relationships, identify new opportunities, support proposal preparation, and contribute to revenue growth within the Ottawa land development market.
• Mentor and support junior Engineers, Technologists, and EITs through technical guidance, project exposure and career development opportunities.
• Pursue new opportunities including proposal development
• Monitor project budgets, schedules and resourcing to ensure successful project delivery and profitability.

Role description

Arcadis’ Ottawa office is seeking a Senior Project Civil Engineer to join our growing team. This individual will provide technical leadership and project management for land and site development projects throughout the Ottawa region. The successful candidate will lead multidisciplinary project teams, maintain strong client relationships, oversee project delivery, mentor junior staff, and contribute to the continued growth of the Land Engineering practice through business development and technical excellence.

This dynamic and cohesive team operates with a hybrid work style. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in these office meetings and be prepared to travel to project sites or client meetings when necessary. Strong technical skills and effective communication are essential for this client-facing role.

The salary range for this position is $106,000 - $159,000. The base salary represents Arcadis’ hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualification for the role.
