Gannett Fleming TranSystems is seeking a Senior Architect to join our Buildings & Facilities Business Group in Toronto, ON. This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring regular attendance at our Toronto office.
What you'll be challenged to do:
As a Senior Architect, you will be a trusted advisor and play a pivotal role in driving innovation and transformation in architectural design. You will develop and implement strategic design initiatives, leveraging your specialized knowledge and visionary leadership to influence and mentor teams. Your contribution will optimize performance, solve high-level problems, and leave a legacy of industry recognition and influence.
Responsibilities:
- Administer and supervise design projects with a focus on planning, directing, coordinating, and overseeing the work of Architectural staff to ensure technical accuracy, safety, constructability, maintainability, cost-effectiveness, and timely completion.
- Interpret, organize, execute, and coordinate assignments, ensuring all align with the strategic goals and vision of the client.
- Assist the Principal Architect in planning and developing architectural projects, engaging in the exploration of subject areas, defining scope, and developing novel concepts and methods.
- Lead the execution of designs with a strong emphasis on interdisciplinary coordination, playing a crucial role in executive decision-making.
- Utilize advanced computer software knowledge to convey project intent and ensure seamless communication of concepts to clients and project teams.
What you will bring to our firm:
- Bachelors of Architecture Degree and/or a Master of Architecture.
- Membership in good standing with the Ontario Association of Architects (professional seal as required).
- Advanced skills with Revit; minimum 10 years of experience required.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in a Canadian Architectural Office, particularly with medium to large scope projects.
What we prefer you bring:
- Significant experience with major transit projects.
- Proven track record overseeing teams of architects, engineers, and technical personnel with minimal supervision.
- Familiarity with budgeting procedures and practices.
- Expert skills in Building Information Modeling (BIM), AutoCAD, MicroStation, and 3D rendering.
- Proficient in MS Office suite, with strong graphic presentation skills.

Compensation:
The range for this position is salary dependent upon experience and geographic location.
