The ideal candidate is a self-motivated and experienced Architect who can work independently and manage projects to provide architectural design of buildings, primarily high-rise residential and mixed-use buildings, from conceptual planning through to the construction administration stage.
Responsibilities
- Manage architectural projects and work collaboratively with other disciplines to provide architectural design of buildings, primarily high-rise residential and mixed-use buildings, from the conceptual to construction administration.
- Prepare architectural design models, drawings, specifications, and construction cost estimates.
- Apply state-of-the-art architectural design techniques to maintain a high level of service for the architectural design practice at GLAE.
- Perform construction-related services, including shop drawing reviews, response to requests for information, periodic construction site visits to gather relevant information, and document observations.
- Collaborate with Structural engineers, MEP engineers, and building contractors on the design and construction of projects.
- Other duties directed by the supervisor as required.
Qualifications
- Licensed/Registered Architect, ability to manage Architectural projects and inspire the team.
- 10+ years of experience with a focus on residential, mixed-use, commercial projects, or complementary sectors exhibiting success. Portfolio demonstrating continued success and excellence in design across these sectors.
- Proven track record of project leadership and design acumen.
- Must possess a strong work ethic, be capable of working under pressure, and employ effective time management skills.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work on multiple projects during a specified time frame. Able to work additional overtime hours when required.
- Ability to collaborate with colleagues in a teamwork environment.
- Efficient communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Working proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam.
- Working knowledge of the Mi crosoft Office Suite
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture from an accredited University. A master's or higher degree is considered an asset.
- Existing/growing networks of clients and sector insight are considered an asset.
