Job summary

Alberta Blue Cross is seeking a Senior Accountant, Project Accounting to provide financial stewardship across the project portfolio. The role partners with project managers and stakeholders to track performance, deliver insights, and strengthen controls.

You will influence budgeting, forecasting, and reporting practices, supporting automation and governance across capital and operating projects.

Qualifications

• CPA designation preferred; strong foundation in accounting and reporting.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting, financial reporting, or analysis experience.
• Experience supporting project portfolios, capital programs, or operating initiatives.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting knowledge.
• Experience with ERP systems such as Workday, SAP, Oracle; advanced Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze project budgets, forecasts, commitments, and actuals through the lifecycle.
• Prepare and deliver project financial reporting, dashboards, and variance analysis for leadership.
• Partner with Project Managers to support budgeting, forecasting, funding, and decisions.
• Identify risks/opportunities and recommend corrective actions.
• Support month-end/year-end close and ERP reporting enhancements.
