Position Title : Senior Project Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to join their Project Accounting Team, with a focus on month-end, quarter-end, and audit responsibilities for various entities. This role will involve managing complex accounting issues, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with internal controls and standards. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment and demonstrate strong technical accounting expertise and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities :

• Entity Ownership & Stakeholder Engagement :
• Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned companies, building strong relationships with stakeholders outside the department.
• Ensure the accurate and timely resolution of entity-specific accounting issues.
• Technical Accounting & Analysis :
• Analyze complex accounting issues, prepare comprehensive documentation, and present findings and implementation plans to the Accounting team and relevant stakeholders.
• Financial Reporting & Month-End Close :
• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements for Wind and / or Solar assets.
• Execute journal entries and other tasks as part of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Collaborate with internal departments to produce monthly and quarterly variance analyses.
• General Ledger Maintenance & Reconciliations :
• Review and maintain monthly general ledger accounts and reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of financial statements.
• Fixed Asset & Construction Accounting :
• Prepare journal entries within the Fixed Asset Module for the Distributed Generation (DG) segment.
• Record accounting entries for assets under construction, ensuring proper transfer to Property, Plant, and Equipment (PPE) upon achieving Commercial Operation Date (COD).
• Compliance & Documentation :
• Complete Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance documentation for projects under construction and those closed during the year, adhering to internal processes.
• Special Projects & Cross-Functional Collaboration :
• Lead or participate in special projects within the department, across the broader finance environment, and in cross-functional initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with a CPA designation being highly preferred. A minimum of 3 years of relevant accounting experience, with strong month and years end close is required. Excellent audit knowledge is expected Candidates should possess strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SOX compliance, and financial reporting standards. Proficiency in accounting systems and tools, with advanced skills in Excel, is essential. The role demands excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, along with the ability to effectively communicate and present findings to various stakeholders. Experience in managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment is also crucial for success in this position.
