Job summary

CNA is seeking a market-facing Senior Underwriter in our Programs specialty. Under technical direction, you will underwrite risks in a book with significant complexity and coordinate with brokers to reach profitable outcomes.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, 5+ years underwriting experience in Programs or Commercial Auto, and strong negotiation, analytical, and leadership skills. Base salary ranges from $90,000 to $120,000 CAD with a solid benefits package.

• 5+ years underwriting experience within Programs or Commercial Auto.
• Professional designations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Underwrites risks with significant technical complexity within Programs specialization.
• Reviews applications and determines acceptability of risk.
• Determines pricing based on analysis and compliance requirements.
• Prepares quotes and negotiates with brokers to reach profitable outcomes.
• Markets products and maintains broker relationships.
• Provides guidance to other underwriters and cross-functional teams.
