About the Role:

We are seeking a Senior Program Manager for our Fraud Program team within the Identity & Trust Organization. You will develop and lead high-impact programs aimed at reducing fraud-related losses and mitigating systemic risks. This role offers high autonomy and is ideal for candidates who thrive in ambiguity, think systemically, and can bring clarity across stakeholders without requiring tight boundaries or explicit instructions.

You will report to the Senior Manager of Fraud Program Management and collaborate closely with teams across product, engineering, analytics, compliance, and operations. This hybrid role is based in Remitly's New Westminster, Canada office.

Responsibilities:

  1. Define and lead the development of fraud prevention strategies across products, geographies, and operational domains.
  2. Translate fraud risk insights into strategic initiatives, working with product, engineering, and analytics teams to build scalable controls and platform improvements.
  3. Conduct fraud risk assessments for new products and geographic expansions, managing requirements from discovery to implementation and maintenance.
  4. Coordinate incident response efforts, including root cause analysis, stakeholder alignment, and delivering long-term solutions.
  5. Mentor and delegate work to team members or collaborators to ensure progress and coverage in a dynamic fraud landscape.
  6. Set and monitor program goals, risks, and success metrics, ensuring stakeholder alignment.

Qualifications:

  1. 7+ years of program management experience in a technical domain, preferably within fraud, trust & safety, or risk management.
  2. Bachelor's degree, relevant certifications (e.g., CFE, CFCS), or equivalent experience.
  3. Strong technical understanding; ability to collaborate with engineers and analysts on system behavior and architecture.
  4. Proficiency in Excel and Google Workspace.
  5. Basic SQL skills.
  6. Experience operating in high-ambiguity environments, building fraud controls from scratch for new or evolving products, including rule design, model deployment, and tooling improvements.
  7. Experience in payments, fintech, remittances, or money transfer is a plus.
  8. Availability to support during non-business hours during critical incidents. This role is exempt from overtime pay.

Compensation and Benefits:

The starting salary range is $128,000 - $150,000. Employees are shareholders with equity options. Benefits include four weeks of vacation, health and mental health benefits, family forming benefits, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, life insurance, disability coverage, continuing education, and travel benefits.

Remitly is committed to diversity and inclusion, providing equal employment opportunities without discrimination based on race, gender, age, religion, or other protected classes.
