Job description

Coming Together to Connect Construction

Construction is one of the world’s largest — and least digitized — industries. At Trackunit, we are on a mission to eliminate downtime and transform how machines, people, and systems connect across the globe.

For more than 20 years, we’ve pioneered IoT solutions for construction. Today, we’re not only a market leader — we are shaping the digital agenda for the entire industry.

Now we’re looking for a Senior IoT Device Program Manager to help lead the next generation of connected devices powering our ecosystem.

The question is: Are you ready to build what the industry runs on?

Reports to: Director of IoT Product Management

The Role

As Senior Program Manager, you will take a central leadership position in shaping and delivering Trackunit’s next-generation connected device portfolio. You operate at the intersection of hardware engineering, embedded software, mobile connectivity, cloud integration, and commercial strategy — ensuring that complex IoT programs translate into scalable, profitable, and industry-defining products.

You will lead strategic device programs end-to-end, from early concept and architectural definition through development, launch, and lifecycle optimization. Working closely with engineering directors and cross-functional leaders, you will set direction, align stakeholders, and drive execution toward ambitious technical and business goals.

This role requires both technical depth and strategic clarity. You must be comfortable navigating architecture discussions around connectivity, embedded platforms, security, and lifecycle management — while simultaneously evaluating market positioning, cost structures, and revenue impact.

Your credibility with engineers enables constructive challenge and strong decision-making; your business acumen ensures that every program advances Trackunit’s broader growth objectives.

As a senior leader within the IoT Device organization, you will bring structure to complexity, create momentum across teams, and ensure that our devices continue to be the trusted backbone of the construction ecosystem.

What You Will Own
  • Strategic Program Leadership
  • Lead complex, cross-functional IoT device programs from concept to scaled deployment.
  • Define product strategy, roadmap, and value propositions aligned with business objectives.
  • Drive execution against ambitious technical and commercial goals.
  • Technical Credibility & Engineering Partnership
  • Act as a trusted sparring partner to hardware, firmware, and connectivity engineers.
  • Navigate architecture discussions spanning:
  • Cellular connectivity (LTE Cat 4+, 5G, eSIM, roaming, carrier certification).
  • Device hardware platforms and module strategy.
  • Embedded Linux / RTOS environments.
  • Security, FOTA, and lifecycle management.
  • Make informed trade-offs between performance, cost, scalability, and time-to-market.
  • Mobile Connectivity & Ecosystem Strategy
  • Drive connectivity strategy across global markets.
  • Understand carrier relationships, certification flows, SIM strategies, and regulatory environments.
  • Optimize connectivity architecture for reliability, scalability, and profitability.
  • Align device capabilities with SaaS monetization models (MRR / ARPU impact).
  • Business Impact & Commercial Ownership
  • Own Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) evolution and margin development.
  • Partner with pricing and commercial teams to shape positioning.
  • Ensure device programs unlock new revenue streams and strengthen product‑market fit.
  • Balance “win now” execution with long‑term portfolio evolution.
  • Cross‑Functional Mobilization
  • Inspire and align engineering, product, marketing, operations, and sales.
  • Drive crisp go‑to‑market execution.
  • Lead post‑launch learning loops and performance optimization.
  • Present to senior leadership and influence strategic direction.
Who You Are
  • Technically strong enough to challenge engineers.
  • Strategic enough to guide executives.
  • Structured enough to drive complex programs.
  • Commercial enough to think beyond the device.
Experience & Background
  • Significant experience in IoT device programs, hardware products, or connected systems.
  • Strong background in mobile connectivity (carrier environments, modules, certifications, roaming, SIM/eSIM strategies).
  • Experience leading cross‑functional engineering teams without direct authority.
  • Proven ability to deliver complex hardware‑software integrated products to market.
  • Solid understanding of embedded systems and device lifecycle management.
Personal Traits
  • Calm under complexity.
  • Trusted by highly skilled engineers.
  • Structured and outcome‑driven.
  • Comfortable making hard trade‑offs.
  • Exceptional communicator and storyteller.
  • Able to set direction and rally teams around stretched goals.
What Success Looks Like
  • Strategic IoT device programs delivered on time and at quality.
  • Strong engineering alignment and trust.
  • Clear connectivity strategy across markets.
  • Improved COGS and margin trajectory.
  • Devices that unlock measurable SaaS revenue growth.
  • Executive confidence in program direction.
Career Growth & Impact

This role offers exposure and growth beyond traditional program management:

  • Ownership of high‑visibility strategic initiatives.
  • Regular engagement with Senior Leadership Team.
  • Opportunity to shape next‑generation IoT device architecture.
  • Influence across hardware, cloud, connectivity, and commercial domains.
  • Pathway toward broader product or portfolio leadership.
