Brief On The Organization

The Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) is working towards building a healthier India. It is helping to address the limited institutional and systems capacity in India by strengthening education and training, advancing research and technology and facilitating policy and practice in the area of Public Health. PHFI is headquartered in New Delhi with national presence through its constituent units of regional Indian Institutes of Public Health (IIPHs) and Centers of Applied Research in core public health themes. The Foundation, established in 2006 as a public private initiative, is governed by an independent board comprising of senior government officials, eminent Indian and International academic and leaders, civil society representatives and corporate leaders. Project Brief

The JSW Centre for Climate Change and Health (JSW CCCH) is being established at the Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) Headquarters in Delhi NCR through financial support from the JSW Foundation. This center aims to accelerate the Government of India’s commitment to addressing the impact of climate change on human health, as outlined in the National Plan for Climate Change & Human Health. The project will address gaps in trained human resources, evidence generation, and technical capacity within India’s climate change domain. The center will function under the overall guidance of the JSW Professorial Chair in Climate Change and Health.

Deliverables

Technical tasks related to the project, including proposal and project development, stakeholder engagement and collaboration, technical documentation and knowledge management, programmatic support and other project-related duties.

The Major Duties And Responsibilities Will Include

  • Proposal and Project Development: Conceptualize, draft, and finalize detailed project proposals and implementation plans focused on strengthening health systems, incorporating evidence-based practices, defined outcomes, timelines, and resource requirements in alignment with national health priorities and donor frameworks.
  • Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration: Establish and maintain effective working relationships with government agencies, development partners, academic institutions, and other relevant stakeholders to facilitate data-sharing, resource mobilization, and technical collaboration for health systems strengthening initiatives at national and sub-national levels.
  • Technical Documentation and Knowledge Management: Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation including white papers, technical briefs, situation analyses, project progress reports, and policy recommendations.
  • Programmatic Support and Other Duties: Provide technical and operational support in as directed by the supervisor.
  • Travel as required.
  • Any other task assigned by the Supervisor/ Project PI.

Qualification

Essential:

  • Master of Public Health or equivalent public health degree

Experience

Essential:

  • 4-7 years of work experience in public health or area related to climate and health.

Desirable

  • Experience of proposal and report writing, data analyses, scientific documentation, data visualization
