Job description

We are looking for a Senior Production Coordinator to join one of our exciting new CG projects! Do you have extensive experience using Flow FKA Shotgrid at an animation/VFX studio? Apply today!

Atomic Cartoons Inc. is an award-winning animation studio with locations in Vancouver's Mt. Pleasant Animation District, Ottawa's Hintonburg neighborhood and Los Angeles. Since its inception over 25 years ago, Atomic Cartoons has created and produced numerous 2D and CG animation productions including Princess Power and Last Kids on Earth. Atomic is well known for its artist-friendly culture and flexible work environment. We are always looking for artists of all levels to join our team!

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Provide updates, priorities, schedules, and status of all shots to artists and to show leadership.
  • Ensure Shotgrid statuses and task assignments are updated and maintained.
  • Coordinate and package shot deliveries, including submission documentation.
  • Break down scripts, create detailed CG asset lists and cross-check against a database of existing CG assets.
  • Work with department supervisors (Modeling, Look Development, and Rigging) to assess each CG asset and assign bid times.
  • Ingest and label CG assets.
  • Track the progress of a large volume of new and reused assets through the pipeline utilizing Flow FKA Shotgrid and Google Sheets.
  • Document decisions and requests, and ensure items are tracked and managed appropriately.
  • Ensure department teams are clear on daily delivery objectives.
  • Ensure effective communication between teams and production.
  • Communicate any schedule changes to appropriate stakeholders and escalate to Supervisor/Producers as needed.
  • Monitor and control progress, issues and prepare reports if needed.
  • Ensure work is being approved, completed on time and to specification.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • Experience coordinating in an Animation or VFX studio.
  • Advanced experience with Flow Production Tracking FKA Autodesk Shotgrid.
  • Experience coordinating the CG Assets department.
  • Experience with ingesting CG assets and assigning bid times.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to connect with a wide variety of personalities.
  • Able to remain focused on the big picture without losing track of the details.
  • Able to take direction and multitask.
  • Flexibility- no two days may be the same.
  • Technically savvy and proficient.
  • Currently legally eligible to work in Canada.


- Applicants must have resided within BC as of December 31, 2024 and be able to provide the appropriate supporting documents.
- All Atomic employees in this role have the opportunity to work remotely within BC, artists within Vancouver and the Lower Mainland can also choose hybrid and in-studio options.

At Atomic Cartoons and Thunderbird Entertainment, we take into consideration a wide range of compensation factors including background, skills, location, and experience to determine competitive pay. In addition to competitive pay,this position is eligible for company-sponsored benefits including medical, GRSP, vacation pay, paid holiday break,paid leave,and a variety of other discounts and perks. Please note: This expected pay range is for British Columbia and is not applicable to locations outside of the province of British Columbia.

Wage ranges are based on a weekly rate.

$1,250 - $1,350 CAD
