Job summary

Intact Financial Corporation seeks a Senior Product Owner – Security to lead the cyberdefence product line within the Detection Engineering team. You will own the backlog, define strategy, and ensure timely delivery of cybersecurity solutions.

You will collaborate with stakeholders to shape the vision, prioritize features, and drive secure product outcomes while adhering to Intact policies and industry best practices. This hybrid Montreal role emphasizes delivery and stakeholder alignment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
• 5–7 years in cybersecurity.
• 3+ years IT Security monitoring (SIEM, SOAR, XDR, TIP).
• CSPO/PSPO I/PSPO II is a plus.
• Strong Agile mindset and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Define product vision, strategy, and roadmap for cybersecurity solutions.
• Create, maintain, and prioritize product backlog and epics.
• Lead agile delivery with clear communication of value to stakeholders.
• Ensure timely release planning and cross-team coordination.

About the role

Our growing team is looking for a Senior Product Owner – Security! As part of the Cyberdefence – Detection Engineering team, you will be the Detection Engineering Specialist who acts as a Cyberdefence Product Owner.

What you’ll do here

• Communicates with stakeholders to define the products or products' category vision and strategy ensuring their interests are included in the release.
• Create, maintain, and prioritize the product backlog, breaking down epics into user stories and ensuring they are ready for development.
• Responsible for the business aspects of the project including ensuring the right products are being built in the right order and release is developed by the deadlines.
• Ensures consistency between products.
• Collaborate with management and stakeholders to define/up to date the product vision, strategy, and roadmap, focusing on cybersecurity solutions.
• Independently leads the development effort by conveying the vision to an Agile delivery team, outlining and prioritizing work based on business value.
• Follows-up with stakeholders and senior management on a need basis.
• Inspires the team to deliver best-in-class products.
• Leads, plans, tracks and is accountable for all phases of the products life cycle from the beginning of the project to the introduction into the marketplace.
• Responsible for products and/or products category evolution.
• Ensures compliance with Intact group policies and standards.
• Supervises and accompanies resources on internal and external audits.
• Monitors performance and recommends schedule changes or resource additions.
• Ensures business objectives and targets are met through data analytics, and feedback.
• Determines products KPIs and objectives.
• Discovers and proposes new product ideas & design, develops concepts to strategically enhance existing products or product extensions.
• Translates research discoveries into usable and marketable products.

What you bring to the table

• Experience in: SIEM with Microsoft Sentinel, AWS and GCP.
• SIEM/SOAR automation.
• Good understanding of Threat.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or any combination of equivalent education and experience.
• 5 to 7 years in cybersecurity.
• At least 3 years of experience in IT Security monitoring (SIEM, SOAR, XDR, TIP).
• Certified Product Owner (CSPO, PSPO I, PSPO II) will be considered an asset.
• Good understanding of the Agile development process and best practices.
• Strong analytical, technical, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Your experience and application knowledge in the insurance field, an asset.
• Bilingualism (French and English) – Need to interact on a regular basis with colleagues across the country.
• No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.
