A critical component of Coalition’s competitive advantage is our ability to underwrite more accurately and efficiently than everyone else. As we continue to push towards our mission of “protecting the unprotected” it’s important we build and grow this underwriting edge

As the product leader for Underwriting AI, you will own one of the company's strategic product areas and have a material impact on the success of the business. You will work cross-functionally to find novel ways to leverage AI to improve the accuracy and speed with which we identify and assess risk at scale. You’ll be responsible for identifying problems and opportunities, collecting feedback from users, defining success criteria, prioritizing features within a roadmap, and working across the company to deliver innovative underwriting solutions. Your roadmap will consist of novel AI driven features as well as improvements to existing systems and tools that will work together to drive accuracy and efficiency gains.

Coalition's culture is one that strongly values humility, authenticity, and diversity. We want to work with people of different backgrounds and different paths in life, and we trust our team members to take responsibility, share ownership, and work for one another. Coalition operates in a regulated space (insurance), so in addition to efficiency and elegance, everything we do must be both secure and compliant, across multiple regulatory frameworks.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver AI-first solutions to improve underwriting accuracy and efficiency
  • Provide technical thought leadership by staying up to date on the latest trends in AI and proposing new directions to drive business impact
  • Define metrics and goals for underwriting accuracy and efficiency, and develop a differentiated product strategy and roadmap leveraging data and qualitative feedback
  • Partner closely with engineering, design, and other product managers to define user experiences through detailed feature specifications, and execute the roadmap
  • Lead complex internal product launches to drive product adoption and impact, collaborating with cross-functional teams and building business stakeholder relationships
Skills and Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience building and launching successful software products, taking them from an idea all the way to customer benefit
  • Demonstrated ability to stay up-to-date on the latest AI trends / technologies and incorporating them into your product solutions
  • An ownership mentality; the ability to lead independently and do what it takes to deliver great outcomes
  • Ability to articulate complex problems to stakeholders from different areas of the business, and drive decision alignment to actionable outcomes
  • Ability to balance being hands-on and sweating the details and looking at the larger picture and driving the strategic vision
  • Comfortable with data analysis and manipulating large data sets to derive insights, and inform product decisions and process optimization
Bonus Points
  • Experience building and launching AI / ML products
  • Experience with the business of insurance, or related regulated financial products
  • Experience building internal products driving operational efficiencies for complex systems and workflows
  • 100% medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • Flexible PTO
  • Annual home office stipend and WeWork access
  • Mental & physical health wellness programs like Headspace, Lumino, and more!
  • Competitive compensation and opportunity for advancement
