Job Description

RBC is currently looking for a Senior Product Manager reporting into the Business Liquidity & Deposit Solutions team. You will be a Product Management leader accountable for the delivery and management of applicable deposits products and as well as related enhancements, targeting Business Clients across all channels and market segmentations.You will lead key strategic initiatives for Business Deposits including interest rate pricing along with risk and growth strategies for the entire portfolio.You will apply extensive, in-depth knowledge, skills, and practices to perform complex assignments, and will focus on the analytics and portfolio insights for business deposits and liquidity solutions supporting the needs of the business. You will apply data & analytics expertise along with strong business acumen to surface relevant insights and recommend actions.

From tracking market rate movements, engaging treasury and the field on how business deposits are behaving, and supporting pricing and analytics to broader flow of funds across the portfolio- this is an exciting role very much entrenched into one of the largest revenue contributors to Business Financial Services. The role will require utilizing data & analytics expertise to surface insights along with a good balance of storytelling, and cross-collaboration with stakeholders to drive market share volume growth along with net interest income growth.

What will you do?

  • Evaluating processes and resources to identify potential limitations in product. Modifying designs to maximize client adoption and product quality.

  • Gathering internal and external feedback to identify potential new products or improvements to existing products.

  • Developing and using tools for ongoing management of existing products and also make recommendations for new products or revisions to existing products. Tracking the status of projects from inception to release.

  • Generating processes and plans to measure product quality and evaluating results to identify deficiencies. Adjusting to client’s and business needs and requirements as needed.

  • Leverage data and analytics to generate strategic insights for the business including market share performance, portfolio monitoring metrics and profitability

  • Act as a partner and subject matter expert to the team on RBC internal data

  • Deliver accurate and timely analytics that enable the business to meet both short term and long term Market Share objectives

  • Deliver end-to-end analysis and present actionable insights to stakeholders in a timely and effective manner

  • Communicate, frame and align analytical objectives with senior leaders

  • Own, automate, and standardize deposits portfolio analyses and work collaboratively with partners such as Corporate Treasury, Finance, Sales etc...

  • Build and maintain complex queries, reports and dashboards for products & features that drive value in pricing decisions and customer conversations

  • Promote data science & analytics across the broader team to enable RBC to become a data-driven organization

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • University degree in Quantitative field of study (e.g Statistics, Economics, Finance, Engineering) and/or MBA – Role requires broad business management insight and knowledge, especially in Business Sector Behaviour

  • 5-10 years in Data Science/Finance/Analytics field

  • Significant experience in utilizing advanced SQL to build meaningful data views

  • Expert programming skills with Python. Proficient with data manipulation and visualization libraries/frameworks

  • Expert visualization skills with Tableau

  • Effective and comfortable in business and technical environment.

  • Ability to take initiative, multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong Project Management skills

  • Influencing skills

  • Strong PowerPoint skills in creating and presenting

Nice-to-have

  • Experience in payment and cash management

  • Bank Liabilities/Deposits Management & Interest Rate Risk Knowledge

  • Product Management experience

  • Agile Methodology
