About the role:

The Safety team at Samsara is at the forefront of applying AI to physical operations, building intelligent systems that utilize computer vision, sensor data, road context, and behavioral patterns to detect risks and prevent accidents, saving hundreds of lives annually. In this role, you will leverage AI to understand environmental risks, providing safety-critical information for vehicles before they reach specific locations (e.g., weather changes, construction zones, high-risk intersections). Your work will help elevate our safety initiatives to the next level.

This is a remote position open to candidates residing anywhere in Canada. Relocation assistance will not be provided.

In this role, you will:

• Own the strategy, roadmap, and execution of the AI Maps product area, balancing speed and long-term value.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to launch new products supporting a rapidly growing business with over $1 billion in ARR.
• Work closely with customers to understand their needs and inform product development.
• Identify and own new product opportunities from concept to launch.
• Ensure high standards for user experience as a product owner.
• Utilize AI tools to accelerate development, research, and decision-making.
• Partner with Sales to support strategic customer engagements.
• Embed Samsara’s cultural principles—Customer Success, Long-Term Building, Growth Mindset, Inclusivity, Teamwork—into your work.

Minimum requirements:

• 8+ years of product management or relevant experience with a proven record of launching impactful products.
• Strong B2B SaaS background, experience with enterprise customers.
• Hands-on approach, capable of defining features, demoing products, and supporting sales.
• Excellent problem-solving skills focused on customer impact.
• Technical aptitude to work effectively with engineering teams.
• Strong ownership mentality and commitment to results.
• Outstanding communication skills for internal and external audiences.
• Business acumen.

Preferred qualifications:

• Technical background (engineering, computer science, etc.).
• Experience with hardware/software product development in safety domains.
• Knowledge of transportation, logistics, or industrial sectors.
• Experience managing pricing, revenue, and go-to-market strategies.
• Entrepreneurial or high-growth environment experience.
