Signal 1, based in Toronto, is seeking a Senior Product Manager to own AI-enabled healthcare products from strategy to delivery. You will work with engineers, ML scientists, and GTM teams to define the roadmap, validate opportunities, and shape the category through thought leadership.
You’ll lead a team through hypothesis-to-MVP-to-revenue, aligning customer value with business outcomes. The role demands strong communication, an AI-native, fast-paced approach, and experience building agentic AI
US health systems will spend $100-130 billion on AI between 2025 and 2030, but studies show that 95% of AI initiatives don't deliver measurable impact. Currently, health systems have little to no insight into which AI solutions actually work and bring value, meaning that millions of dollars are wasted on tools that don't make a difference. Signal 1's AI Management System enables health systems to operate scalable and valuable AI programs that can ensure solutions are performing as expected and make data-driven decisions on where to invest. Purpose-built for healthcare and informed by experience managing AI at scale, Signal 1 empowers health systems to use AI to its full potential and maximize impact on patient care. We were founded by Tomi Poutanen (former Chief AI Officer at TD Bank, co-founder of the Vector Institute and Radical Ventures) and Mara Lederman (previously a professor at University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management and lead at Creative Destruction Lab), with early backing from Geoffrey Hinton.
Health systems are moving fast from buying to building AI. That shift changes the problems that an AI management system needs to solve:
It's no longer enough to monitor a vendor's model, health systems now need the infrastructure to build safe and effective agents that deliver impact and bring a real return on investment.
We have a clear thesis on the problem and the solution, and early validation from health systems who are already excited about what we're building. You'll come in and own it from here: pressure-testing the plan against what customers tell you, sharpening it where the evidence points somewhere better, and making the real calls on what we build and in what order.
This role suits someone who has already taken a product from hypothesis to MVP to a revenue-generating line of business, and is ready to own that kind of ambiguity and drive that kind of outcome again.
You'll work with a team of engineers, machine learning scientists, and product people who are ambitious and passionate about their craft. We work hard and move fast to shape the way healthcare uses AI for the better. Our office is based in Toronto and we come together 2-3 days a week to collaborate, innovate, and have fun.
You’ll be a great fit if you have:
Research shows women and people of color are less likely to apply to a role unless they meet every qualification listed. If you're excited about this role and think you'd be great at it, we'd rather you apply and let us make that call together.
