Job description

MacDonald Search Group has been asked by our eCommerce technology client to find a first class Sr. Product Manager to join their team in a remote-first work environment (Canada-based) . The primary responsibility of this role will be to independently lead complex Shopify-based projects from start to finish, mentor other project managers, and drive efficiency and excellence in delivery and process.

Some of what you will do in this role includes :

• Manage and deliver multiple high-stakes projects on time, within scope and budget, maintaining an 80% billable utilization rate.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships, handling complex communications and identifying new business opportunities.
• Mentor junior project managers, lead retrospectives, and contribute to internal best practices, documentation, and processes.
• Leverage expert-level knowledge of Shopify and supporting tech (PIM, ERP, Liquid, GraphQL, REST) to guide project delivery.
• Utilize Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence), time tracking (Productive), and project documentation platforms (Notion, GDrive, Smartsheet) to manage workflows and resources.

You should have the following in your background to apply :

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• 5+ years of project management experience in an eCommerce or digital product environment.
• Deep expertise in Shopify, including admin usage, integrations, and migrations.
• Experience with modern frontend frameworks (React, Tailwind CSS) and technical documentation writing.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills, capable of clearly articulating complex systems and managing stakeholder expectations.
• Proven ability to work independently, lead with vision, and mentor team members in a fast-paced, agile environment.
