Job summary

Rootly is seeking an experienced engineer to join early and help shape our trajectory. You will own end-to-end feature development, balancing scrappy execution with building scalable, reliable software.

You’ll craft delightful experiences, push for engineering excellence, and influence product direction across the stack. This role rewards ownership, fast iteration, and collaboration with customers to refine the product.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with Ruby on Rails, Ruby and JavaScript.
• Strong full-stack capabilities spanning backend and frontend.
• Attention to design and user experience.

What You’ll Need

• 5+ years of experience working with Ruby on Rails, Ruby, and JavaScript with a bonus for Hotwire, ViewComponents, Tailwind, and similar frameworks.
• Strong full‑stack capabilities with the ability to dive into backend infrastructure as comfortably as crafting delightful front‑end experiences.
• You know what looks good, what feels good, and how to make an experience magical. You sweat the details because they matter.
• Bias toward action. Small imperfections drive you crazy, and you fix them instead of waiting for someone else to do it.
• Deep systems thinking. You build for scale and longevity, not just for the next sprint. You think about architecture holistically.
