We have secured 105 million in funding, were named one of Canada’s Companies-to-Watch in Deloitte’s Technology Fast 50 Awards, and are on track to become one of Canada’s fastest-growing start-ups.

Who are Certonians?

We are soccer players, DIY creators, spicy-food lovers, karaoke lovers, wine connoisseurs, and more. We are a team of 300+ and are looking for more team members who value accountability, collaboration, inclusivity, and compassionate problem-solving.

This Opportunity

We’re looking for senior product designers to join the team that works on Certn’s products and design system. You will be joining a tight-knit team, working closely with UX, product managers and engineering to frame user needs and deliver thoughtful and outstanding design work supported by research and validation.

As our SR Product Designer you will
  • Be a key member contributing to designing new features, iterating, and shipping high-quality product improvements to the background check industry and the future of personal data management.
  • Work closely with designers and engineers to shape and grow our internal design system, Cascadia. Get in at the seedling stage.
  • Be responsible for balancing speed, quality, and consistency of design. You also aren’t afraid to ask for help to keep that balance and consistency.
  • Collaborate and work cross-functionally with UX, product, engineering and design peers on product user experience direction, strategy, research, best practices and accessibility standards to ensure delightful and inclusive experiences. You may guide, coach, and mentor fellow designers.
  • Facilitate and drive meetings and workshops confidently when sharing new work and user experience opportunities.
  • Articulate the rationale behind your design decisions, and ask difficult questions and challenge assumptions.
We\'re hoping you\'ll bring
  • Passion for lifting the bar as part of a world-class design team and a desire to help others grow.
  • Experience on large projects with collaboration, experimentation, influence, and contributed to multiple shipped products.
  • Fantastic communication and storytelling skills; bringing personality into everything.
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with engineers to deliver a great user experience while accounting for timelines, feasibility, and business needs.
  • Experience partnering with researchers to plan, wireframe, design, and run experiments; iterate on designs through evaluative and generative research.
  • A portfolio focused on product work you’re proud of.
Why Certn?

Our goal is to make Certn the best place to work. We continuously seek your feedback, research best practices, and implement new programs to ensure we can all feel proud to work here daily.

Benefits

  • Remote-first and supports flexible remote arrangements
  • Green transportation allowance
  • Fitness & wellness allowance
  • Work from home allowance
  • Professional development budget
  • And a few more goodies!
