The Globe and Mail is seeking a Lead Product Designer to drive user-centric experiences across the website and iOS/Android apps. You will lead the design team, ship complex products, and evolve the user experience to meet customer needs amid evolving tech and industry conditions.

You will mentor designers, collaborate with product managers and engineers, and contribute to the design system and product strategy to impact readers in Canada.

Formación

• 8+ years of experience designing digital products.
• Passion for user experience and design thinking in news/media.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to prototype through design cycle.
• Experience conducting research studies and presenting results to executives.
• Experience contributing to design systems.
• Experience using AI to optimize workflows.
• Basic understanding of CSS/HTML to communicate with engineers.

Responsabilidades

• Design world-class experiences across web and mobile apps.
• Establish a design vision for your product area guiding research, prototypes, and UI elements.
• Mentor other designers on the team.
• Conduct user research and feedback sessions to validate problems and solutions.
• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders from discovery to delivery.
• Contribute to the design system to ensure cross-platform consistency.
• Contribute to product strategy and evangelize impact of work.
• Lead workshops with team members and stakeholders.
