Job description

As a Senior Product Designer at Marqeta, you will play a critical role in designing solutions that help business customers build and launch card programs. You will work on our consumer-facing products and shape the future of embedded finance. We are interested in hiring someone who is highly focused on craft and execution, capable of leading projects, and operating independently.

Our Product Design team is small but mighty, highly collaborative, and supportive of each other. We maintain team rituals such as weekly critique, bi-weekly warmup, and retrospectives. We recognize that team culture is a constant work-in-progress, not a one-and-done.

We work Flexible First. This role can be performed remotely anywhere within the Greater Toronto Area, Ontario. We'd love for you to join us!

The Impact You'll Have

• Craft embedded finance solutions for customers and cardholders
• Own a product area and lead design execution end-to-end while driving cross-functional alignment
• Assume responsibility for design quality in areas you oversee
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional partners and key stakeholders on all aspects of product design and development
• Advocate for user needs and balance them with business needs to make informed decisions that work for all

Who You Are

• 4 years of relevant design experience at a tech product-driven company or a design agency
• A portfolio showcasing engaging examples of B2C / consumer-facing products on mobile native platforms (iOS and/or Android), SDK products, or white-label products
• Expertise in product interaction and visual design, paired with a high bar of craft and taste
• Experience leading design projects end-to-end
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Excellent presentation and storytelling abilities
• Comfort working with distributed teams

Nice-To-Haves

• Experience in Payments or Fintech
• Experience designing B2B / enterprise products and tools
• Additional expertise in areas such as accessibility, motion design, content design, user research, design system, front-end engineering, or product management
