Job summary

Compass Minerals Canada Corp. in Goderich, Ontario, is hiring a Manager for Procurement & Stores to lead procurement operations at the Goderich Mine facility.

You will oversee a team of buyers, supervise stores personnel, and drive continuous improvement across safety, quality, costs and efficiency. The role requires a post-secondary diploma and at least seven years in procurement, with strong experience in ERP systems (JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Coupa) and supplier management.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary diploma or certificate in Business Administration, Procurement or related field.
• 7 years of progressive procurement, sourcing, contract management, or supply chain experience.
• Experience with ERP/procurement platforms and data analytics.
• Strong supplier relationship management and cost-saving capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Promotes and monitors a culture focused on continuous improvement in Safety, Quality, Costs, Efficiency, Capital Spending, Employee Engagement and Continuous Improvement Process.
• Manages, leads and mentors a team of buyers, supervisors, and stores personnel.
• Establishes and monitors key performance indicators (KPIs) and performance expectations for direct reports.
• Develops, manages and maintains procurement processes and communications that align with internal policies and procedures.
• Oversee supplier evaluation and qualification processes.
• Creates and manages supply risk mitigation controls.
• Supports and manages supplier diversity and inclusion initiatives.
• Identifies and implements cost-reduction initiatives with suppliers to achieve best-in-class results.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to identify opportunities to increase spend under management.
• Identifies and helps maintain optimal MRO inventory levels to maximize inventory turns, reduce aged inventory exposure, avoid stock-out conditions and reduce inventory carrying costs while adhering to SOX cycle count requirements.
• Responsible for the procurement of capital project goods and services, including sourcing, negotiations, contract development, and supporting documentation.
• Expedites orders and ensures quality, on-time delivery of goods and materials.
• Perform other related duties as required.
