The Senior Procurement Specialist supports the procurement team by coordinating efforts with the Head Office staff and Finance team to manage contracts and optimize sourcing processes. The role involves creating dashboards, analytics, and presentations using PowerBI, Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Forms for senior management communication.

This individual will analyze data, prepare reports, and identify improvement areas. Collaboration with the Director of Procurement and other departments ensures alignment with procurement goals. Responsibilities also include operational activities like fleet management, IT hardware asset management, and system management within procurement.

Job Duties

  • Organize and evaluate procurement activities under the leadership of the Director of Procurement.
  • Maintain a comprehensive database for contracts, projects, and assets, and develop dashboards.
  • Prepare detailed procurement reports with metrics such as contract status, benefits, and expirations.
  • Analyze data to support decisions on cost reduction, revenue growth, and supplier performance.
  • Coordinate with internal and external partners for data integration into dashboards.
  • Support procurement policies, procedures, and budget monitoring, including SOPs and KPIs.
  • Identify and evaluate vendors for materials, equipment, or supplies.
  • Support large equipment purchases and claims processing against suppliers.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in procurement processes.
  • Assist in category management and supplier setup processes.
  • Manage vendor payments and support contract negotiations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration.
  • 3-5 years of experience in purchasing and analytics, with at least 2 years handling Big Data and AI tools in procurement.
  • PMAC certification, enrollment, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Knowledge of contract law, inventory control, and procurement regulations.
  • Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel (including pivot tables and VLOOKUP), PowerBI, Forms, and SharePoint.
  • Negotiation, problem-solving, and data analysis skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and in teams.
  • Knowledge of WHMIS legislation.
