The Vancouver Fraser Port Authority is an arm’s-length federal agency responsible for the shared stewardship of the lands and waters that make up the Port of Vancouver, Canada’s largest port. The senior procurement advisor works collaboratively with VFPA departments as a business partner to conduct informed decisions on expenditures. This partnership model extends to suppliers who become strategic partners in the department’s objective to deliver the best value, minimize risks, introduce innovation, and achieve the best results. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining key supplier relationships, driving value for money and monitoring ongoing supplier performance, as well as coordinating efforts between internal stakeholders and suppliers’ account teams to achieve procurement objectives and maximize commercial outcomes. The position will also develop and deploy effective approaches to strategic spend management while utilizing procurement tools to maximize cost reduction, reduce risk, and ensure fairness and transparency. This includes implementing sourcing strategy, leading competitive procurements, negotiating, drafting, issuing and administering commercial contracts.
