Job summary

National Molding, LLC is seeking a Senior Process Technician responsible for ensuring new product samples are completed on schedule using a scientific, data-driven approach to process development and validation.

The role focuses on optimizing molding processes, applying scientific molding principles, monitoring in-cavity pressures and temperatures with instrumentation, and driving Lean and 5S initiatives to improve quality and efficiency across production.

Qualifications

  • Technical trade college diploma or equivalent industry experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in injection molding process development and troubleshooting.
  • Strong data-driven problem-solving approach, balancing process stability with high-volume production efficiency.
  • Solid understanding of mold design principles.
  • Proven ability to diagnose and resolve molding process issues.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality standards.
  • Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in interpreting technical manuals and using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and IQMS.

Responsibilities

  • Attend APQP meetings (1–6) to ensure tooling is designed with efficiency and ease of operation in mind.
  • Ensure all sample requirements are completed on schedule, including all MTR documentation.
  • Verify and optimize cycle times and all other molding process parameters.
  • Apply scientific molding principles in process development and optimization.
  • Utilize instrumentation (e.g., RJG, Kistler) to monitor and control in-cavity pressures and temperatures.
  • Maintain a “master process window” to ensure consistent and repeatable product quality across all production runs.
  • Conduct DOE for each part to optimize performance prior to submission to Quality Control.
  • Support and contribute to Lean manufacturing initiatives.
  • Ensure machines and surrounding work areas are left clean, organized, and ready for the next job.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve molding process issues.
  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives to reduce setup time and improve efficiency.
  • Adhere to Dynaplas 5S workplace standards.
  • Demonstrate strong work ethics and lead by example.
  • Coordinate, schedule, train, and monitor the activities of Setup and Process personnel.
  • Requisition required materials and supplies as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
