Our platform is a cloud-based SaaS that enables manufacturing engineers to rapidly design, build, and operationalize "digital twins" to optimize production processes. Engineers can simulate critical manufacturing equipment to understand behavior, improve KPIs, and mitigate operational failures.

The Role
Simulation is central to the Basetwo platform. We seek a world-class Process Modelling expert to contribute significantly to our process simulation engine. The Senior Process Modeller will develop thermodynamic/mass balance models and control and optimization solutions for pharmaceutical and chemical manufacturing use cases. The ideal candidate will collaborate with subject matter experts and the engineering team to deliver product-driven simulation solutions addressing customer challenges.

What You'll Do

• Work directly with manufacturing SMEs to understand challenges, define technical requirements, and implement advanced modeling solutions.
• Build heat and mass balance model templates for real-world pharmaceutical and chemical processes (e.g., distillation columns, reactors).
• Drive product development related to simulation, collaborating with cross-functional teams to support roadmaps and feature iterations based on customer feedback.
• Develop cutting-edge algorithms for model predictive control and real-time optimization applications.
• Provide senior guidance on Basetwo's simulation and control strategies and solutions.
• Promote best practices within the simulation team.
• Support customer SMEs in configuring, training, and deploying simulation models with manufacturing and lab datasets.

Requirements

What You'll Need

• BASc or MASc in Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years of process modeling experience in industrial environments.
• Experience building first-principle models from scratch in Python, with ability to research complex problems through literature.
• Proficiency with Python scientific computing stack: Pandas, Numpy, Scipy, and data visualization tools like matplotlib.
• Demonstrated skills in modeling, process control, optimization, simulation, and time series data.
• Product-driven mindset, capable of translating customer pain points into product features.
• Strong technical communication skills, comfortable delivering technical presentations.
