Our platform is a cloud-based SaaS that enables manufacturing engineers to rapidly design, build, and operationalize "digital twins" to optimize production processes. Engineers can simulate critical manufacturing equipment to understand behavior, improve KPIs, and mitigate operational failures.

The Role

The founding team seeks a world-class Process Modelling expert to contribute significantly to our process simulation engine. The Senior Process Modeller will develop thermodynamic/mass balance models and control and optimization solutions for pharmaceutical and chemical manufacturing use cases. The candidate will collaborate with SMEs and the engineering team to deliver product-driven simulation solutions addressing customer challenges.

What You'll Do

• Work directly with manufacturing SMEs to understand challenges, identify technical requirements, and implement advanced modeling solutions.
• Build heat and mass balance model templates for pharmaceutical and chemical processes (e.g., distillation columns, reactors).
• Support product development related to simulation by collaborating with cross-functional teams, supporting roadmaps, and iterating features based on customer feedback.
• Develop algorithms for model predictive control and real-time optimization applications.
• Provide senior guidance on Basetwo's simulation and control strategies.
• Advocate for best practices within the simulation team.
• Assist customer SMEs in configuring, training, and deploying simulation models with manufacturing and lab datasets.

Requirements

What You'll Need

• BASc or MASc in Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years of process modeling experience in industrial environments.
• Experience building first-principle models from scratch in Python, including researching complex problems via literature.
• Proficiency with Python scientific/engineering tools: Pandas, Numpy, Scipy, and visualization tools like matplotlib.
• Research/work demonstrating skills in process control, optimization, simulation, and time series data.
• Product-driven mindset, mapping customer pain points to features.
• Strong technical communication skills, comfortable delivering presentations.
