Overview:
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Process Engineer to join their team. This role is responsible for optimizing production processes, improving efficiency, and ensuring operational excellence within their mill. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of pulp and paper manufacturing, process control, and continuous improvement methodologies.

What you will be doing:

  1. Analyze, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes to enhance production efficiency, product quality, and cost-effectiveness.
  2. Lead process improvement projects to drive operational excellence and sustainability initiatives.
  3. Identify and troubleshoot process-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum productivity.
  4. Develop and implement best practices for process control and quality management.
  5. Collaborate with maintenance, operations, and technical teams to ensure smooth mill operations.
  6. Utilize data analysis and process modeling tools to identify areas for improvement.
  7. Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
  8. Lead root cause analysis investigations and implement corrective actions.
  9. Provide technical support and training to operational staff.
  10. Participate in capital projects, from feasibility studies to implementation and commissioning.
  11. Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in pulp and paper manufacturing.

What you must have:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field.
  2. Minimum of 7+ years of experience in process engineering within a pulp and paper mill or similar industrial setting.
  3. Strong knowledge of pulp and paper manufacturing processes, including pulping, bleaching, paper production, and chemical recovery.
  4. Proficiency in process simulation, statistical analysis, and process control software.
  5. Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies is an asset.
  6. Demonstrated ability to lead projects and work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
  7. Strong problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  8. Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  9. Familiarity with environmental and regulatory compliance in the pulp and paper industry.

Salary/Rate Range: $120,000 – $150,000
