Job summary

Kimberly-Clark Canada is seeking a senior process engineer to lead safety-minded improvements in high-speed consumer product manufacturing. You will develop equipment and processes, lead risk reduction, and drive asset performance while conforming to quality standards.

You will apply Lean, Six Sigma, DOE and SPC tools in cross-functional teams, contribute to capital plans, and mentor others while ensuring safe operations and on-time project delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Chemical Engineering, Pulp & Paper Science, or related engineering.
• 7+ years of industrial experience in high-speed consumer product manufacturing or staff environment.
• Experience with SPC, DOE, process capability studies, Six Sigma, and Lean.
• Strong cross-functional team collaboration and time management.
• Lean Yellow Belt, financial acumen, and digital skills for operations.

• Develop and deliver equipment and processes meeting safety requirements and guidelines.
• Lead risk reduction for operators, maintenance, and other personnel.

Lead risk reduction activities that provide for the safety and well-being of operators, maintenance, and other personnel.Manage multiple medium-to-large initiatives to deliver improvements to asset performance or plant systems, improve product Quality and conformance and drive systems to reduce variability to meet quality scorecard metrics; lead major initiatives for breakthrough improvements, solving higher level problems for the plantDevelop knowledge and skills in leadership of the application of engineering principles, scientific analysis, LEAN principles, and project management.Develop and incorporate best practices and centerlines to optimize key outputs.Seeks, recognizes, defines, and solves complex process issues to root cause to achieve objectives.Participates in the development of others within the area of the incumbent's expertise, including the creation of knowledge transfer documentation materials.Support maintenance personnel when troubleshooting complex issues.Identify and document issues and opportunities with existing equipment.Develop and maintain training plan for process resources at the siteLead a safety work teamExecute product and process trials to drive improvements for assets and/or business. Involved with early design, technology, equipment selection, sizing, location, etc. Provide oversight and support during installation and commissioning.• Ways of Working with our Digital Platforms:Tier Accountability T1-3Extending support to other plant operations as requiredParticipate in an EHSS Programs as a lead, co-lead or participantStandard Work, Lead Problem Solves, Lean ProjectsOther Assignments as requiredFlexibility:Normal Scheduled hours will vary based on the need to support 24/7 Operation Travel up to 15% for benchmarking, best practice sharingPotential of Shift Coverage to support assets, projects or initiativesTo succeed in this role, you will need the following qualifications:Requires a minimum of a bachelor’s or advanced degree in Chemical Engineering, Pulp & Paper Science, or closely related engineering from an accredited college or university.At least 7 years’ or more of industrial experience in a variety of technical or operational assignments in a high-speed consumer product manufacturing and/or staff environment.Strong experience using manufacturing analysis tools, such as statistical process control, design of experiments, process capability studies, Six Sigma and Lean manufacturing.A demonstrated ability to perform in cross-functional teams to achieve objectives within required timeframes.Lean Yellow Belt, proficient in LEAN business practices; problem solving, 5SFinancial Acumen requiredCompetent Digital, Computer skills and applications for operationsSkills to multi-task in a dynamic work environmentStrong written and verbal communication skillsDemonstrate strong safety mindsets & behavioursPreferred Qualifications:Extensive knowledge with tissue production equipment, materials, and processes is a plus.Multiple years of experience in a variety of plant manufacturing and staff support or capital project assignments, including maintenance, utilities, and asset support.Experience working with external technical service providers.Familiarity with high-speed manufacturing equipment machine startups.Experience and expertise in Kimberly-Clark engineering procedures and processes is beneficialLed by Purpose.
