Job summary

EY is seeking a Senior Tax Manager to join our Private Tax practice in Winnipeg. You will work with private organizations, high net worth individuals, and families on domestic and cross-border tax planning, estate planning, and postmortem strategies.

This role partners with our transaction and international tax groups to deliver comprehensive tax solutions. You will lead tax strategy development, liaise with legal counsel and tax authorities, oversee tax compliance, and contribute to client

Qualifications

• Identify planning opportunities and prepare correspondence describing the income tax implications of implementing transactions.
• Research client issues that arise from planning or compliance work using a variety of online sources.
• Liaise with the client’s legal counsel and provincial ministries on client issues.
• Review personal, trust and corporate tax returns and related compliance responsibilities.
• Coordinate with Canada Revenue Agency and provincial ministries on client issues.

Responsibilities

• Recommend and implement tax strategies aligned with client objectives.
• Correspond with legal counsel and tax authorities on client issues.
• Assist with reorganizations, research compliance and planning issues.
• Review personal, corporate and trust tax returns and related compliance tasks.
