Job Description

The Senior Principal Platform Architect is a strategic advisory role responsible for helping customers establish a robust technical foundation on the ServiceNow Platform and design solutions that deliver business value. This involves establishing best practices around instance strategy, technical governance, data, integrations, and platform health. The role is consultative, guiding partner and customer resources without performing platform configurations. It involves interfacing with executives, platform owners, enterprise architects, and development teams during solution selling, structuring, and implementation.

The ideal candidate will have senior enterprise architect experience, with a successful background in management consulting (professional services or cloud software). They should be capable of acting as a trusted advisor to senior executives, facilitating strategic planning, governance, and large enterprise program management.

Responsibilities

• Develop relationships with CIOs and business leaders to understand their vision and align ServiceNow solutions with their digital transformation goals.
• Translate business objectives into technical architectures and roadmaps.
• Engage with enterprise architects to position ServiceNow as a core platform for digital transformation.
• Establish and oversee technical governance processes.
• Ensure platform health by guiding configuration best practices.
• Work with clients and teams to establish delivery models, ensure successful go-lives, adoption, and support.
• Promote ServiceNow’s advisory and best practice services.
• Contribute thought leadership through methodologies and white papers.
• Guide solution design and manage technical decision points during implementation.
• Define platform solutions aligned with out-of-the-box capabilities.
• Support sales activities through scoping and estimation.

Qualifications

• Experience integrating AI into workflows, decision-making, or problem-solving.
• Management consulting experience, preferably with Big 4, strategy firms, or OEM/cloud companies.
• 8+ years in management consulting leadership, with a focus on technology (Digital/SaaS/Enterprise Software).
• Experience working with Fortune 500 or OEM software/cloud enterprise architects.
• Career progression in technical or architecture roles.
• Experience with functional business leaders, developing outcome-focused roadmaps.
• 12+ years in large program architecture and design.
• Enterprise architecture experience, including relevant certifications (e.g., TOGAF, IT4IT).
• Experience with core data design, security, and integrations.
• Minimum 2 years of ServiceNow platform experience; cloud platform certifications preferred.
• Familiarity with enterprise workflow platforms.
