Job summary

PRI Engineering seeks an experienced Practice Lead to provide technical leadership for the Natural Sciences & Forestry practice in Toronto. This senior role mentors practitioners, raises technical standards, and ensures high-quality, regulator-ready deliverables across biology, ecology, forestry.

You will own discipline standards, coordinate resources, and partner with commercial leads to align client work with PRI's values, growing the practice while maintaining rigorous scientific integrity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Biology, Ecology, Forestry, Forest Sciences, Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, or related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of natural sciences or forestry experience with increasing technical responsibility.
• Minimum 5 years of technical leadership or team leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of natural-resource/forestry legislation, standards, and regulatory frameworks.
• Experience leading technical teams and providing senior review across multiple projects.
• Collaborative leadership style and ability to mentor across disciplines.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills and commitment to technical excellence.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for the Natural Sciences & Forestry practice and act as senior technical authority.
• Ensure quality across biology, ecology, habitat assessments, forestry plans, and related deliverables.
• Develop and improve technical standards, field protocols, and quality management systems.
• Coordinate resources and staffing across offices and projects.
• Lead regular practice meetings and foster knowledge sharing across disciplines.
• Support business development with technical strategy and credibility on major pursuits.
