A leading international consulting firm is seeking a Senior Power BI Developer in Calgary, Alberta. This role involves designing scalable analytics solutions, integrating with cloud platforms, and mentoring junior developers. A Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of Power BI experience are required. The position offers opportunities for career advancement and a competitive compensation package.
Overview
We are looking for a Senior Power BI Developer who brings not only deep technical expertise but also the confidence and clarity to lead within the modern analytics landscape. This role goes beyond building dashboards; it's about shaping the future of how data is consumed, governed, and acted upon in the organization.
You'll be at the intersection of business strategy, data engineering, and visual storytelling, helping clients turn raw data into actionable insights. You'll design and deliver scalable solutions that operate within complex enterprise environments, integrating with cloud platforms like Azure and AWS, while embedding governance and performance optimization into every layer of your work.
This is a hands-on, high-impact role for someone who thrives on solving difficult problems with elegant solutions. You should have a strong command of Power BI's underlying architecture and be comfortable navigating everything from dimensional modeling and complex DAX to tenant-level security configuration and report performance tuning.
Equally important, you'll act as a trusted advisor—engaging stakeholders, challenging assumptions, and bringing clarity in ambiguous situations. You will lead discussions on best practices, bridge the gap between technical and non-technical audiences, and foster a data-driven culture by example.
