Job Overview:
  • Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Monitoring & Observability Senior Specialist to support and evolve enterprise-wide monitoring solutions.
  • This role is central to ensuring applications, infrastructure, and services are highly available, transparent, and optimized for performance, capacity, and reliability.
  • You'll leverage tools like Splunk, Dynatrace, and Terraform to design, implement, and maintain observability frameworks that support operations, development, and business stakeholders.
  • This role demands deep technical expertise, a strategic mindset, and a passion for proactive issue resolution and performance excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement robust monitoring and observability solutions using Splunk, Dynatrace, and Terraform.
  • The Senior Platform & Monitoring Specialist leads the onboarding of new data sources and ensures proper normalization and modeling for effective analysis and alerting.
  • Develop and manage dashboards, alerts, and reports tailored to different user groups (e.g., Operations, DevOps, and Executive stakeholders).
  • Build and maintain Splunk knowledge objects such as field extractions, macros, lookups, tags, and workflow actions.
  • Optimize end-to-end observability for applications and infrastructure across hybrid and cloud-native environments.
  • Administer monitoring integrations with ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow) to enable unified incident and event management.
  • Ensure continuous improvement of observability capabilities aligned with business and technical roadmaps.
  • Support and guide Customer Journey visibility, service decomposition, and target KPI setting.
  • Track and deploy patches/upgrades to monitoring tools while ensuring system health, scalability, and performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners to support service mapping and drive availability improvements.
  • Senior Platform & Monitoring Specialist maintains detailed documentation and standard operating procedures for all monitoring systems.

Required Skills & Experience:
  • 3–5 years of experience administering Splunk and/or Dynatrace in enterprise environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Terraform in infrastructure automation and provisioning.
  • Strong knowledge of log and metric collection, analysis, and data visualization.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell, or PowerShell).
  • Familiarity with containerized application environments and microservices architectures.
  • Experience with ITSM/ITOM systems, especially ServiceNow, including integration with observability tools.
  • Ability to write complex Splunk queries and build advanced dashboards and reports.
  • Experience with alerting and incident response tools such as PagerDuty.
  • Working knowledge of Linux/Unix and Windows systems.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical topics to non-technical audiences.

Nice to Have:
  • Splunk or Dynatrace certifications.
  • ITIL v4 Certification.
  • Experience with Splunk ITSI or similar service intelligence platforms.
  • Background in automated CI/CD pipeline monitoring and observability integration.
